Rotary Transition Program RTP

We Salute your Service!

Mercer County Community College (MCCC) offers the Rotor Transition Program (RTP) as part of its FAA-approved Part 141 Aviation Flight Technology degree program. This pathway is designed for commercially rated helicopter pilots who wish to transition to fixed-wing aircraft and pursue a career in the airline industry.

Infinity Flight Group (IFG) serves as MCCC’s contracted flight training provider, delivering the flight portion of the program at Trenton-Mercer Airport under MCCC’s oversight and in compliance with FAA and VA requirements. Because MCCC’s chief pilot and faculty balance flight operations with other academic responsibilities, IFG staff provide support by fielding initial program inquiries related to flight training and coordinating scheduling under the college’s direction. Academic advising, curriculum, and VA benefit determinations remain the sole responsibility of MCCC and the VA.

Through the RTP, students complete academic coursework and structured flight training that may qualify them for a Restricted Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with reduced flight time requirements.

Students are encouraged to consult the MCCC catalog for the full curriculum and degree requirements. For questions regarding VA benefits, certification, or academic advising, students should contact the MCCC Veterans Office at Vets@MCCC.edu.

This program is only available at the NJ location.
